About a month ago my digi pal Janice Croze from Five Minutes For Mom tweeted me up to see if I'd like to jump in on a project with her.  She'd been introduced to Matilda Jane Clothing and wanted to see if I'd like to come to Fort Wayne Indiana to help her cover their much anticipated annual "435 Art Fair".  

Matilda Jane is a one of a kind very artfully designed clothing company for girls and boys and their moms. I made a b-line straight to their website and it was beyond beautiful. My boys are a bit older, so I wasn't familiar with the line...my dudes can be found in very teen attire these days.

As I browsed the collection and images, I was literally ooing and ahhhing all over the place.  It truly is like a fun and fanciful little art fair landed right in your lap-top, full of playful little masterpieces.

 I also loved hearing the backstory of its founder Denise Demarchis, who started her company at her kitchen table (where the best ones start), and then spent years showcasing her painted furniture and clothing at art fairs.

Now she runs a booming national clothing company, managing to keep her clothes unique and handmade and simply stunning.  My neighbor, who has three beautiful little girls just happened to have an order of Matilda Jane Clothing delivered as I stood next to her after a school drop off several weeks ago, and I got to see the clothing first hand.




Stunning and special and one-of-a-kind are the words that first came to mind.  If I had a little girl, these are the kind of jumpers and frocks I'd want to have her in, like 24/7. 

So, this Friday I get to head to Fort Wayne Indiana for Matilda Jane's Art Fair, where the latest and greatest the company has to offer will be showcased and up for purchase. To say that fans of Matilda Jane are loyal is a major understatement.  Just seeing the comments and verbal anticipation on their Facebook page shows you that. Janice and I will be interviewing the folks from Matilda Jane, some of its "Trunk Keepers", attendees, and generally covering the whole wonderful affair.  Can't wait!

I'll also get to check out the line of boys clothes called The Good Ones, which is equally as awesome.
